Why Should My Choice Be Cleary?


Kendra Cleary was born and raised in Cheboygan, Michigan.  During her childhood, she was very active in the 4-H organization participating in Horse, Crafts, Gardening and Livestock programs where she won numerous awards and was selected to represent Cheboygan County at the Michigan State Horse Show.  Kendra paid for most of her college education by raising and selling 4-H market steers.

In High School, she was an active member of the National Honor Society as well as the Band, French and Ski Clubs.  Kendra graduated from Michigan State University with a B.A. in Advertising and was a member of the MSU Equestrian Team, MSU Advertising Association and PRSSA.

Following college, Kendra started a long and successful career in sales with Turner Broadcasting’s Chicago office.  She became involved in sailboat racing including several Mackinac races.  Kendra met her husband Timothy Weiler at the Queen’s Cup Regatta in Muskegon.

In 2006, Turner Broadcasting offered Kendra the opportunity to transfer to their Detroit office and spearhead new digital partnerships with the Big Three.  Kendra and Tim were excited to move back to her home state and settled into their current home in Bloomfield Township.

Kendra’s father served as a township trustee for three decades, so she decided to follow in his Republican Party footsteps working tirelessly on Rick Snyder’s Gubernatorial campaigns.  Kendra and her husband have remained active as elected Precinct Delegates for the past 10 years and received recognition as Hardworking Republicans.  Kendra has also served as the President of the Bloomfield Glens Estates Homeowners Association.

Kendra opened and managed the Detroit office for ION Media networks in 2011 serving as the Vice President/Sales Director developing partnerships with Fortune 500 companies across the Midwest.  She secured over $13 million dollars of new business in the first two years of her tenure at ION.

In 2016, Kendra joined the leadership team of Detroit-based start-up Digerati/Talent E.I.  She served on the company’s leadership team where she worked to promote diversity and inclusion in the hiring process.  She managed the company’s relationships with large and small employers and worked to promote fairness and equality in the job ecosystem through partnerships with the State of Minnesota, Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, Chicagoland Chamber, Michigan Municipal League and University of Texas System.

Kendra is also involved in fundraising activities for numerous causes including American Cancer Society, Cycle for Survival and 4-H Proud Equestrian Program, served on the Michigan State University National Alumni Board and the Detroit Adcraft Club Education Committee.
